Sensitivity and specificity of in vivo COVID-19 screening by detection dogs: Results of the C19-Screendog multicenter study
Getxent tubes were used to collect sweat samples from patients to train dogs to detect COVID-19.
The performance of these dogs was then evaluated in vivo on 1,251 subjects. The dogs showed:
- Sensitivity ranging from 91.6% to 97.6%
- Specificity ranging from 96.3% to 100%
This study proved that Getxent tubes efficiently sample the odor of patients and are a powerful tool for training dogs to detect COVID-19.
