Development of an automated human scent olfactometer and its use to evaluate detection dog perception of human scent

The odor of a Getxent tube placed 2 hours in a room with a human (no direct contact) is equivalent to:

• 0.5g of freshly cut human hair (part of target material)
• a t-shirt worn 2h with the human (direct contact with target material)

It thus shows that Gextent tubes can efficiently:

• Collect complex odors with no contact with target material
• Release the same odor as the real target odor
