How can I impregnate Getxent tubes with odor of explosive/narcotic/currency/allergen?

Target odors

This procedure is suitable for various target odor samples, including:

  • Explosives
  • Narcotics
  • Currency (banknotes, etc.)
  • Allergens (gluten, walnuts, nuts, etc.)
  • Fire accelerants
  • Animal parts (pangolin scales, ivory, bones, etc.)
  • Scats

Procedure

Step 1: Place your target odor sample in a clean, small-volume, odor-free, and tightly closable container. Our best recommendation is to use the impregnation kit.

Step 2: Open the packaging containing the Getxent tubes, and using tweezers while wearing disposable gloves, pick up the Getxent tubes.

Step 3: Place the Getxent tubes in the container with the target odor sample. To avoid direct contact with the target odor sample:

OR

  • Suspend the Getxent tubes above the target material using uncoated stainless steel wires, with the target odor sample placed at the bottom of the container.

OR

  • Place the target odor sample in a smaller, open glass jar inside the container, with the Getxent tubes arranged around the jar.

Step 4: Close the container hermetically and impregnate the Getxent tubes (see our recommendations for duration).

Step 5: After impregnation, open the container and remove the Getxent tubes using tweezers and disposable gloves. Store the tubes in glass vials.

Multiple Getxent tubes can be impregnated together, and they can even be in contact with each other.
