Getxent tubes to the rescue of endangered plants in New Jersey
Conservation dogs are known for their outstanding help to protect endangered species, like plants. But how to train them properly when species are so rare that it is not possible to collect parts of the plants?
As stated by the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust, Getxent tubes are the perfect training aid to:
- collect the odor of endangered orchids without damaging them
- train the dogs with the real odor of the plants
